Flai, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup founded by three entrepreneurs from Uruguay, has successfully raised $27 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Base10 Partners, a prominent venture capital firm known for backing high-growth technology companies. The round also drew participation from several notable investors, including First Round Capital, Toyota Ventures, Y Combinator, the Friedkin Group, and Findlay Automotive. This substantial injection of capital underscores the growing market demand for verticalized artificial intelligence agents capable of automating complex, customer-facing workflows within traditional industries.
Founded in 2025 by Ari Polakof, Alen Polakof, and Juan Alzugaray, Flai specializes in developing sophisticated AI agents tailored specifically for the automotive retail sector. The company’s platform is engineered to handle a wide array of routine yet vital operational tasks that traditionally require significant manual labor from dealership staff. Flai’s technology manages incoming customer phone calls, text messages, and emails, actively schedules appointments, dispatches maintenance reminders to existing clients, and engages in persistent follow-ups with potential car buyers. To ensure seamless adoption, the platform integrates deeply with existing dealership management systems and customer relationship management software currently utilized across the automotive industry.

The newly secured $27 million in Series A funding will be deployed strategically to accelerate Flai’s commercial expansion. The company plans to dedicate a significant portion of the capital toward attracting new automotive retail customers while simultaneously increasing sales and expanding service offerings to its existing client base. Furthermore, Flai intends to scale its internal operations by growing its team and establishing a new office in Uruguay, scheduled to open in November 2026. This move will allow the founders to tap into the robust technical talent pool in their home region while maintaining their corporate headquarters and market focus in the United States.
Flai’s rapid ascent in the competitive artificial intelligence landscape is reflected in its striking business metrics. The company currently schedules more than 50,000 appointments per month and provides its AI-powered communication and management services to over 10 of the 50 largest automotive dealership groups in the United States. Demonstrating extraordinary commercial traction, Flai’s revenue increased twentyfold over the past year alone. Concurrently, the company’s internal team expanded dramatically, growing from its three original co-founders to a thriving workforce of approximately 40 employees as the business continues to scale its operations to meet surging demand.
