As he prepares to celebrate half a century in the music industry, legendary ranchera singer and actor Pedro Fernández is officially bringing his highly anticipated "Ave Fénix Two’R 2026" to audiences across the United States. Spanning 13 major cities nationwide, the tour marks a significant new chapter for the veteran artist, coming together for the very first time in an official partnership with Live Nation.
The nationwide trek officially launches this Thursday at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, setting the stage for a sweeping series of performances that will traverse the country before culminating in Southern California later this winter.
Following his sporadic appearances during the 2025 "Ave Fénix Tour"—which served as his reintroduction to the road following the 2024 release of Te Doy La Vida, his first studio album in six years—Fernández is fully leaning into the symbolism of the tour’s title. Meaning "Phoenix Bird" in Spanish, the moniker reflects a powerful personal and artistic rebirth, signaling his triumphant return to recording and heavy touring after a period of stepping back from the studio.
For the artist born José Martín Cuevas Cobos, the upcoming series of concerts is far more than a routine run of dates. It serves as an extended prelude to a monumental milestone: his 50th anniversary as a recording artist, which he will officially mark in 2027.
Reflecting on his enduring connection with his fan base north of the border, Fernández shared his excitement in an exclusive interview with Billboard Español.
"I’m happy to be back with the U.S. audience with this wonderful production, for which we’ve worked on a special repertoire and many surprises," Fernández said. "Interacting with them and bringing them my music, and above all the joy and a little piece of our Mexico, is very gratifying."
A Storied Career Rooted in Childhood Stardom
Pedro Fernández’s journey in the entertainment world is nothing short of historic. Rising to fame as a child prodigy, he adopted his iconic stage name as a tribute to two monumental figures in Mexican culture and music: Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernández.
His breakout moment arrived at just nine years old, capturing the hearts of millions across Latin America when he starred in the beloved film La Niña de la Mochila Azul and released a title-track single and album that immediately catapulted him to national prominence.
Over the decades that followed, that early success blossomed into a legendary, multi-faceted career. Fernández has appeared in approximately 25 feature films and starred in several highly rated television telenovelas, all while maintaining a powerhouse recording career.
His timeless catalog features numerous major hits that have dominated the Billboard charts, including fan favorites such as "Mi Forma de Sentir," "Quién," and "Sin Verte." All three tracks achieved top 10 status across the Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, and Regional Mexican Airplay charts. Furthermore, his 2010 studio album Amarte A La Antigua achieved remarkable commercial success, spending seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Top Regional Mexican Albums chart while also breaking into the all-genre Billboard 200.
Now 57 years old, the seasoned performer is stepping back onto major American stages with a renewed sense of vigor, bringing a meticulously crafted production designed to honor his legacy while thrilling longtime fans.

What Fans Can Expect From the ‘Ave Fénix Two’R 2026’
The current U.S. tour features stops at some of the most prominent and prestigious venues in the country. Following Thursday’s opening night in Los Angeles, the trek will travel to iconic locations including Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Rosemont Theatre in Chicago, the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. The journey will ultimately wrap up on December 5 at the Cal Credit Union Open Air Theatre in San Diego.
Discussing the framework of the live show, Fernández explains that while the overarching concept remains rooted in his signature style, the production scales fluidly to fit each unique venue.
"The show follows the same concept as always, but it will adapt to different venues," Fernández notes. "The setlist has a backbone of songs that have been hits in my career, along with some new music, and we have a portion open to spontaneity—meaning something the audience requests that we’ll gladly include on the spot."
Working alongside Live Nation has also given the singer the opportunity to experiment with innovative staging formats. At the Payne Arena in Texas, for instance, the production will shift into an immersive 360-degree setup, transforming the traditional concert layout into a circular configuration. Additionally, his return to Madison Square Garden marks a sentimental and historic homecoming to New York City after many years away from the legendary venue.
"In addition to being important, some of them are very meaningful," Fernández says of the tour’s venues. "For example, almost three years ago, I performed at the YouTube Theater with great success, and now I’m returning to kick off the tour there. I’ll be heading to Las Vegas and to the Payne Arena, where we’ll do a 360-degree format, which means we’ll transform the production into a circular setup—this excites me a lot. Doing different things is thrilling for me. I’m also returning after many years to New York, to an iconic venue like Madison Square Garden."
Physical Discipline and the Lead-Up to 2027
Beyond his soaring vocals and emotional delivery, Fernández has long been celebrated for his energetic on-stage dancing and dynamic presence. Maintaining that level of stamina requires rigorous preparation, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to physical fitness.
"I thank God that I’m in good physical condition; my genetics are good, so my health is too," he shares. "Physical fitness for the show must be optimal because it’s very demanding to maintain energy from start to finish. However, the most important thing is mental preparation. Staying focused and concentrated is essential, not just for the songs but also for the choreography, and discipline plays a vital role. The audience deserves to see you at your best."
That same dedication is being poured into the grand vision for his upcoming 50th-anniversary milestone in 2027. Far from a standard milestone, Fernández and his management teams at Star Media Consulting and Live Nation are treating the anniversary as a global celebration that will span multiple formats, venues, and continents.
"This tour is the prelude to a very important year," Fernández explains. "After discussing it with my team at Star Media Consulting and Live Nation, we’re clear that what’s coming in 2027 must be spectacular. I’m excited and motivated because this is something not everyone gets to celebrate. We want to hit all kinds of stages, from palenques to returning to Mexico’s Auditorio Nacional and arenas."
Looking beyond the immediate U.S. dates and the domestic celebrations in Mexico, the anniversary plans are slated to reach a truly international audience. Fernández confirms that future legs of the celebration will take him back to the United States to visit markets missed during the current 13-city run, alongside extensive routing through South America.
"We’ll obviously return to the U.S. to visit the cities we’ll miss on this tour, but we’re also planning to include Latin American countries like Bolivia, Chile and Argentina," Fernández adds. "We’re even working on something for Venezuela, Uruguay and Paraguay. Additionally, we’re in talks to bring the celebration to Europe."
