Flai, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence startup headquartered in San Francisco and founded by a trio of Uruguayan entrepreneurs, has successfully raised $27 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by prominent venture capital firm Base10 Partners, with additional participation from a roster of notable institutional investors and industry players, including First Round Capital, Toyota Ventures, Y Combinator, the Friedkin Group, and Findlay Automotive. This substantial injection of capital underscores the rapidly growing demand for specialized, verticalized artificial intelligence agents within traditional industries, particularly the automotive retail sector in the United States.
Founded in 2025 by Ari Polakof, Alen Polakof, and Juan Alzugaray, Flai has quickly carved out a distinct niche by developing sophisticated artificial intelligence agents tailored specifically for automotive dealerships. The company’s platform is designed to seamlessly manage a wide array of front-office and administrative tasks that typically consume significant time and resources for dealership staff. These automated agents handle incoming customer calls, text messages, and emails with human-like responsiveness, schedule service and sales appointments, dispatch automated maintenance reminders, and conduct proactive follow-ups with potential car buyers. To ensure operational efficiency, Flai’s platform integrates directly with existing dealership management systems and customer relationship management software, allowing for smooth data synchronization and minimal disruption to established dealership workflows.

The newly secured $27 million in Series A funding will be deployed strategically to accelerate Flai’s commercial growth and operational capabilities. The company plans to dedicate a significant portion of the capital to customer acquisition efforts, driving new sales expansion, and deepening engagement with its existing client base. Furthermore, Flai aims to scale its internal organization rapidly. As part of its international footprint and talent strategy, the startup has announced plans to open a new office in Uruguay in November 2026, leveraging the deep regional ties of its founding team and tapping into the robust Latin American technology talent pool.
The funding round comes on the heels of an explosive period of growth for the young startup. Over the past year alone, Flai has experienced a remarkable twentyfold increase in its revenue, reflecting an intense market appetite for its automotive-focused AI solutions. This commercial momentum has been matched by dramatic internal scaling; the company’s workforce has expanded from its original three co-founders to approximately 40 employees. Today, Flai’s technology powers operations for more than 10 of the 50 largest dealership groups in the United States, collectively scheduling upwards of 50,000 appointments per month. By bridging the gap between advanced conversational artificial intelligence and the complex logistical needs of automotive retail, Flai continues to position itself as a critical infrastructure partner for modern dealerships seeking to optimize their customer engagement and operational efficiency.
