Flai Secures $27 Million in Series A Funding to Scale AI Agents for US Auto Dealerships

San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup Flai has successfully closed a $27 million Series A funding round, marking a significant milestone for the company founded by three Uruguayan entrepreneurs. The investment round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from a roster of notable institutional investors and automotive industry stakeholders, including First Round Capital, Toyota Ventures, Y Combinator, the Friedkin Group, and Findlay Automotive. This fresh capital injection will allow the young company to accelerate its growth trajectory, expand its operational footprint both in the United States and internationally, and further develop its specialized AI platform designed to transform automotive dealership operations.

Founded in 2025 by Ari Polakof, Alen Polakof, and Juan Alzugaray, Flai has rapidly emerged as a key technological player in the automotive retail sector. The startup develops sophisticated artificial intelligence agents tailored specifically to handle the complex, high-volume communication demands of modern car dealerships. These AI agents are capable of managing customer calls, text messages, and emails with human-like comprehension and efficiency. Beyond routine communication, Flai’s platform automates critical administrative workflows, including scheduling service and sales appointments, sending automated maintenance reminders, and maintaining persistent, personalized follow-ups with potential car buyers. To ensure seamless adoption, the platform integrates directly with existing dealership management systems and customer relationship management software already utilized by auto retailers.

Flai raises $27M Series A to expand AI agents for US car dealerships

The rapid rise of Flai over the past year highlights the immense demand for automation within the traditional automotive retail industry. Since its inception, the company has experienced staggering growth, scaling its revenue twentyfold over the past year alone. This commercial momentum has been accompanied by a dramatic expansion of its internal workforce, growing from its original founding team of three individuals to approximately 40 employees. Today, Flai’s technology powers customer operations for more than 10 of the 50 largest dealership groups in the United States, collectively scheduling upwards of 50,000 appointments per month. This impressive market penetration among top-tier automotive retailers played a central role in attracting institutional venture capital interest during the recent Series A fundraising process.

With the newly secured $27 million in Series A funding, Flai has laid out an ambitious roadmap for the future. The company plans to deploy the capital primarily to accelerate customer acquisition efforts, driving aggressive sales growth among both new prospects and its existing client base. Furthermore, Flai intends to continue scaling its engineering and operational teams to support its expanding product suite and growing customer roster. As part of its international growth strategy, the startup has also announced plans to open a new office in Uruguay in November 2026, creating a bridge between its Silicon Valley headquarters and its South American roots while tapping into regional engineering and operational talent.
