Global superstar Shakira is set to make a triumphant return to the live stage with a unique and ambitious cultural undertaking, launching her "Es Latina" concert series this coming Friday, September 18, in Madrid. Serving as a special component of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, the event promises to be much more than a standard music concert. Spanning the Iberdrola Music venue over the next four weekends, the twelve-concert series will bring together an impressive roster of celebrated and emerging Latine and Spanish artists, creating a vibrant cultural festival that celebrates music, food, literature, art, and fashion from across the Spanish-speaking world through October 3.

The scale of the "Es Latina" series reflects Shakira’s enduring commitment to highlighting diverse voices from Latin America and Spain. The curated lineup features a powerful group of prominent Latinas, including trailblazing Argentinian artist Nathy Peluso, fierce Dominican rapper J Noa, rising Colombian talent Aria Vega, dynamic Boricua singer Gale, soulful Ecuadorian artist La Coya, and versatile Mexican musician Iza Tkm. These performers will share the spotlight with a wide array of other notable acts representing the rich musical mosaic of the region.

Among the additional Latine acts rounding out the bill are the acclaimed Colombian alternative group Ãntamarta, the high-energy Latin American boy band Santos Bravos, the genre-bending Argentinian artist Louta, celebrated Colombian singer-songwriter Juan Pablo Vega, and sharp Puerto Rican rapper Tommy Blanco. Together, this diverse group of performers represents both established icons and the cutting edge of contemporary Latin music.

To accommodate the massive artistic and cultural scope of the event, Shakira’s Madrid residency will be housed within Macondo Park, a custom-built, immersive space designed specifically for the "Es Latina" series. Spanning two dedicated stages, the venue has been engineered to provide an intimate yet festival-scale atmosphere for attendees. However, the experience extends far beyond the musical performances. Macondo Park will also feature a dedicated museum honoring Shakira’s legendary career, offering fans a retrospective look at her decades-long journey in the music industry.

In a nod to the deep literary roots of Latin America, the park will also house a specialized literary space showcasing the timeless work of Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez alongside a broader celebration of Latine literature. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in interactive activities celebrating Latine fashion, visual art, traditional and modern gastronomy, and dance, making the residency a holistic celebration of Hispanic culture.

The inspiration behind the massive residency stems from a deep desire to foster unity and mutual appreciation between Spain and Latin America. In an official press release, Shakira articulated the vision for the project, noting that she wanted to bring Spanish and Latin American artists together because both cultures share a language, collective memory, gestures, and profound historical moments together.

Elaborating on this sentiment in a post shared with her millions of followers on Instagram, Shakira wrote that she wanted to celebrate all the talent that unites the two regions, encompassing not only the big household names, but also a dynamic new generation of young artists who are actively writing what comes next in music, fashion, literature, gastronomy, and art. By blending her own global star power with the creative energy of these diverse creators, Shakira aims to cement "Es Latina" as a defining cultural moment of the year, celebrating the past, present, and future of Hispanic artistic expression in the heart of Spain.
