Mexican financial technology startup Mundi has secured a major credit facility of up to $150 million from Column, providing the company with substantial financial backing as it looks to accelerate its growth across Latin America. The fresh capital injection marks a significant milestone for the trade finance platform, which specializes in providing working capital solutions to companies engaged in international commerce by efficiently financing their accounts receivable.
Operating in a complex and rapidly evolving global trade landscape, Mundi has built a robust technological infrastructure designed to address the liquidity challenges faced by exporters. International trade often involves long payment cycles, where businesses must wait weeks or even months to receive funds from their overseas buyers after shipping their goods. This delay can severely constrain a company’s day-to-day operations, limit its ability to fulfill larger orders, and hinder overall business expansion. Mundi addresses this critical market gap by bridging the cash flow gap for exporters. Through its advanced digital platform, the fintech can finance up to $20 million per individual customer each month, offering a reliable and scalable source of working capital that empowers businesses to trade globally with confidence.

The newly established credit facility from Column will serve as a vital catalyst for Mundi’s next phase of corporate development. The company intends to deploy the additional financial capacity across multiple strategic fronts, beginning with expanding its customer base to serve a greater number of businesses navigating the intricacies of international trade. In addition to scaling its core lending operations, Mundi plans to leverage the capital to research, develop, and launch innovative new products tailored to the evolving needs of modern exporters. Furthermore, the funding will support the fintech’s broader geographical ambitions as it explores strategic expansion into new South American markets, specifically targeting Colombia and Argentina, while firmly maintaining Mexico as its primary operational hub and core market.
Mundi’s successful financing agreement with Column comes on the heels of an impressive period of sustained commercial growth and financial maturation. Over the past twelve months, the company achieved a remarkable growth rate of approximately 70 percent, demonstrating strong market demand for its trade finance solutions. More importantly, this rapid expansion has been underpinned by sound financial discipline, with Mundi operating profitably since early 2025. This achievement places the fintech in a resilient financial position, distinguishing it within the competitive Latin American technology sector where profitability has historically taken a backseat to hyper-growth.
Since its inception, Mundi has established a formidable operational track record. The company has successfully financed approximately $2.5 billion in international trade transactions, providing essential liquidity to roughly 600 unique corporate clients. These businesses span a wide variety of industries and utilize Mundi’s platform to export their goods and services to more than 50 countries worldwide. By streamlining the accounts receivable process and mitigating the financial risks associated with cross-border commerce, Mundi has cemented its role as a key infrastructure provider for Latin American exporters seeking to compete on the global stage.
