HACU Webinar to Explore Embedding Career Readiness Assessment in Undergraduate Business Curricula

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced an upcoming professional development event tailored for educators and administrators seeking to enhance student outcomes in higher education. HACU will host a specialized member webinar titled “Measuring What Matters: Embedding Career Readiness Assessment into the Undergraduate Business Curriculum and Student Experience,” scheduled for November 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. Central Time.

The virtual session is designed to address a growing demand across colleges and universities for empirical methods to evaluate how effectively academic programs prepare students for the modern workforce. As higher education institutions face increased scrutiny regarding return on investment, career placement, and student mobility, the webinar will offer a deep dive into innovative institutional practices currently being tested and refined in the field.

According to event organizers, the upcoming webinar will explore how the Dominican University of California is successfully implementing a comprehensive pre- and post-assessment strategy within its undergraduate business curriculum. This institutional approach is designed to measure distinct developmental markers in students, including measurable growth in career readiness, relationship-building skills, life design mindsets, and overall career mobility.

Participants who tune into the November session will have the opportunity to gain practical, actionable strategies for embedding assessment tools directly into existing academic curricula. Furthermore, attendees will learn how institutions can leverage the resulting assessment data to better understand student growth over time, identify critical institutional areas for curriculum improvement, and inform strategic program decisions moving forward.

The virtual presentation will be led by experienced professionals who are actively engaged in the intersection of higher education and professional development. Giulia Welch, director of internships and professional development and adjunct professor at the Barowsky School of Business at Dominican University of California, will share frontline perspectives from her academic and administrative work. She will be joined by Marieli Rubio, partner and vice president of impact at Career Launch, an organization that collaborates with educational institutions to expand career opportunities and assess professional readiness outcomes for students.

The upcoming event is being offered as part of the broader HACU-member webinar series, which routinely provides member institutions with resources, shared best practices, and professional networking opportunities aimed at championing student success and Hispanic-serving institution initiatives.

Higher education faculty members, academic administrators, career services professionals, and institutional researchers interested in attending the webinar can access registration details and secure their virtual seat by visiting the official Zoom registration portal provided by the association.
