Edtech and fintech startup OrderEAT has successfully raised $2 million in a new funding round as it looks to accelerate the modernization and digital transformation of school cafeterias throughout Latin America. The investment round was led by Chile Ventures, with participation from a robust syndicate of regional and international institutional investors, including Driven VC, Add Ventures, and Seedstars. The round also saw strategic backing from prominent angel investors Sergio Fogel and Avedis Boudakian, underscoring strong confidence in the company’s business model and its rapid regional expansion.
Founded by a trio of visionary Uruguayan entrepreneurs—Matías Craviotto, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, and Luis Pedro Carrero—OrderEAT was built to solve long-standing operational inefficiencies and payment bottlenecks within educational institutions. The platform effectively bridges the gap between busy families, students, and cafeteria operators by completely digitizing the transactional and operational backend of school food services. Through the OrderEAT mobile application, parents can seamlessly add funds to their children’s accounts and pre-order meals, eliminating the need for students to carry physical cash on school grounds. This cashless environment not only enhances campus security and reduces the risk of lost money or theft, but it also provides parents with greater visibility and control over what their children are eating on a daily basis.

On the operational side, OrderEAT offers cafeteria vendors, school administrators, and food service providers a comprehensive software suite to streamline their daily workflows. The platform empowers operators to efficiently manage menus, monitor and forecast inventory levels, track nutritional values, and analyze real-time sales data. By automating these traditionally manual and error-prone processes, OrderEAT helps reduce food waste, optimize kitchen staffing, and ensure that nutritional standards set by schools and regulatory bodies are consistently met.
The newly secured capital infusion will be deployed primarily to fuel OrderEAT’s aggressive expansion strategy across Latin America, with a strategic focus on the Chilean market, where the company already maintains a robust presence serving more than 50 schools. The startup’s leadership team recognizes immense potential in the Southern Cone and broader Latin American markets, where many educational institutions are actively seeking technological solutions to upgrade their campus infrastructure and administrative processes.
OrderEAT’s growth trajectory over the past several months highlights a surging demand for integrated edtech and fintech solutions within the K-12 sector. The company currently operates in more than 600 schools spread across Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru, delivering its services to an active user base of over 250,000 students. Demonstrating exceptional market momentum, the startup successfully onboarded 200 new schools in a span of less than six months. Building on this rapid adoption rate, OrderEAT has set an ambitious target to scale its operations to reach one million active students within the next 18 months, positioning itself as the premier digital cafeteria ecosystem in the region.
