Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo has officially partnered with coffee giant Starbucks for a major regional campaign across Latin America and the Caribbean, launching ahead of International Coffee Day. Announced exclusively on Thursday, September 24, the collaboration is titled "My Coffee. My Ritual." Through this partnership, customers across participating markets in the region will experience a series of immersive activations inspired by the Latin music star’s personal relationship with coffee and music. The campaign is slated to roll out progressively over the coming months.
The timing of the announcement aligns with the lead-up to International Coffee Day, which is globally celebrated on October 1. By uniting one of Latin America’s most celebrated contemporary artists with one of the world’s most recognizable coffee brands, the initiative aims to highlight the deep cultural connection between daily coffee traditions and the music that soundtracks everyday life.
A Shared Celebration of Personal Rituals and Community
For Camilo, coffee is far more than a simple beverage; it serves as a foundational anchor for his daily routine and creative process. Explaining the inspiration behind the campaign, the multi-Latin Grammy winner shared insight into how coffee frames both his solitary moments and his time with loved ones.
"Coffee is a ritual that keeps me in the present moment," Camilo said in a statement released alongside the announcement. "It’s the ritual that marks the day’s most sacred moment: the start of my morning, when I look inward, write in my journals and connect with myself. And then, during the day, coffee is the ritual that connects me with others, with my friends and family. Coffee is always the excuse to come together. So, I’m excited to share this ritual with the whole community around me too, because I feel it’s one more excuse to connect and have more things in common."
Starbucks leadership echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the natural synergy between the sensory experience of coffee and the emotional resonance of music. Ricardo Arias-Nath, senior vice president of Global Coffee and Tea and president of Starbucks Latin America and the Caribbean, detailed the vision behind the collaboration.
"For decades, Starbucks has brought together coffee and music to create experiences that foster connection and enrich everyday moments," Arias-Nath said. "Coffee often becomes part of the rituals that shape our daily lives, while music has the power to elevate those moments and bring people together in meaningful ways. Through our partnership with Camilo, we’re excited to celebrate those personal rituals and create new opportunities for customers across Latin America and the Caribbean to connect through the things they love most: coffee, music and each other."
Curated Playlists and Immersive Fan Experiences
As a core component of the collaboration, Camilo has curated an exclusive playlist titled "My Coffee. My Ritual." The playlist features standout tracks from his latest album, Para Cuando Sean Mayores, alongside a selection of foundational hits from throughout his illustrious career.
These songs will be piped into participating Starbucks coffeehouses across the Latin America and the Caribbean region throughout October, accompanying special coffee tastings designed to engage patrons’ senses. Furthermore, select customers in participating markets will be granted opportunities to take part in curated Starbucks and Camilo experiences. These events draw inspiration from the personal rituals that bring people together, specifically tailored to celebrate Camilo’s deeply dedicated fan community, known as La Tribu.
A Visit to Hacienda Alsacia and Connections from Bean to Cup
Marking the official launch of the "My Coffee. My Ritual" campaign on Thursday, Camilo traveled to Hacienda Alsacia. Located in Costa Rica, the facility serves as Starbucks’ global agronomy headquarters and the company’s very first coffee farm.
During his visit, the singer toured the grounds while the 2026 Starbucks LAC Barista Championship was actively taking place. According to official campaign press materials, Camilo took the opportunity to meet local coffee farmers, gain a deeper understanding of the intricate journey coffee makes from the bean to the cup, and connect directly with Starbucks baristas who traveled from various corners of Latin America and the Caribbean to participate in the regional event.
Camilo’s Musical Legacy and Chart Success
The partnership builds upon the momentum of an extraordinary career. As a six-time Latin Grammy winner, Camilo has firmly established himself as one of the most prominent, influential, and successful singer-songwriters of his generation within the global Latin music landscape.
His commercial footprint on Billboard charts is substantial. Beloved crossover hits such as "Millones," "Baloncito Viejo" featuring Carlos Vives, and "Vida de Rico" have all achieved the coveted No. 1 position on the Latin Airplay chart. Meanwhile, his acclaimed full-length studio sets Por Primera Vez (released in 2020) and Mis Manos (released in 2021) both successfully entered the top five of the Top Latin Albums chart. His most recent musical offering, Para Cuando Sean Mayores, continues this artistic trajectory as a deeply personal and heartfelt love letter dedicated to his daughters.
